You read that title right. I am a PS fanboy reviewing Titanfall. Lets see if Titanfall can stand being put under the microscope!
- Intense Matches
- Fluid Gameplay
- Insane Graphics
- Addictive and Extremely Fun
- No Offline Mode
- No leaderboards
I will be blunt. Any Sony Fanboy that is hating on this game need to repent. This is the same guys that brought us Call of Duty 4. These are the same guys that brought us Modern Warfare 2. Not Call of Duty Ghost. Not Modern Warfare 3. This game is nothing but pure genius. From the first time that I saw this game at E3 of 2013 I knew. I knew this game would be awesome. The xbox One needed that one game. That one game that set it apart from the PS4. That game my friends is Titanfall.
So let us start with the gameplay. I know you have read many different other sites about how this game is played. Let me state for the record that I am talking about the Xbox One version. Not the PC version. As of writing this now the Xbox 360 version mysteriously have been delayed. Hmm. Right. Forget what you heard. This game is like Call of Duty. Yes I said it. It is like Call of Duty 4. That is why the game feels so familiar. Like riding a bike you start off by popping off a few heads from the AI grunts. Yes there is only 6 vs 6 with a ton of bots. Sound dumb right. I know people who play Battlefield 4 would laugh at those numbers. Destructive environments. I have two things to say about that. No Lag. That is right. While playing Titanfall on my CCT Wimax internet I experienced no lag. Although I was on two bars I wasn’t feeling left behind. I was shooting like the best of them.
Unlike Battlefield 4 it isn’t broken out the box. The game looks sexy as hell. I enjoy the environments. I enjoy the smooth framerates. I enjoy the how chaotic things get in each match. I enjoy this game.
Lets talk about the addiction. From the moment you play this game one thing pops at you. Achievements. If you are an achievement whore then you will feel at home. Basically everything that can be done you will accomplish. A tag pops up on the screen for every accomplishment done. Making you feel like you are the baddest pilot Titanfall have ever seen. Shoot even when you pwning the AI bots you feel like an international bad man. All around this game is a must have for any Xbox One owner.
Now this is the part when I release the inner fanboy in me and rant on the cons of this game. The number one irritating gripe of this game is Online only. Yep. This game is worthless without internet. Completely worthless. Wait before you give me the whole this is 2014 and by now the internet is in abundance speech please shut up. My ISP currently didn’t get that memo about fast internet. Consistent service and making it affordable. So if by chance I hit on hard times and can’t pay them their ransom money I get no internet.
So as you can see no offline mode. Which means I can’t go by my friends house with an Xbox One and connect up via LAN and run some games OFFLINE. Totally sucks. I saw in a blog somewhere that they will only add that functionality if there is a need for it. So in other words NO. Awesome game. But stupid idea to make it online only.
My second gripe isn’t such a big one but there is no campaign mode. I mean there is one but it is basically 9 online matches. A mixture of the different game modes. That is it. Lazy bums couldn’t throw in something that would at least resemble an offline mode. Well to be honest I don’t play Single player so I didn’t miss it but the fanboy force say to piss about it.
To make matters worse there is no leaderboards. Which mean no MLG standards. Which mean no way of taking this game seriously at any tournament. Right now we playing for fun. I guess they will add that later as it is released on the Xbox 360.
That ends my rant. Also ends my review. Get this game. It is fun and has tons of replay value. If you have no internet or stealing WiFi from your neighbor do not get this game. Make sure all is well with your internet before getting this game.
Naruto you sneaky devil you…. Somehow you dragged me into a fluff episode but you well know I love to see the back story of Kakashi. So I welcome it.
This episode picked up right where it left off last week. With Kakashi defeating Kinoe in the secret lab of Orochimaru. You can tell that even though Kinoe tried to kill Kakashi that it would of never happened. Somehow you can tell that Kinoe saw Kakashi as a friend. Not his enemy. Which brought the drama of this fight.
Like a horror movie something came out of the glass tube. Now I know if I was there and knowing the kind of stuff Vibes Cartel cousin was doing in that lab with all dem bleach soap and chemicals. Gone long time. But no. They gone investigate. Kakashi don’t watch horror movies. When ever you in a spooky place and you hear something break. Don’t ever check it out.
What did I tell you! Ting look like Orochimaru had sex with a snake. Naruto Version of Cow Foot Woman! Something wrong with this man. So you done know Kakashi in some hot sauce now. Cause this thing look hungry. He in a glass tube chilling and he fitting to eat him some ninjas. At first Kakashi try to use Chidori but after fighting Kinoe his chakra levels were low. So he had to try his best to fight it off. Because Kinoe was tied up he done get swallowed up by the snake. Yuck… Real talk I would of leave him in there. Only because he got that wood style jutsu. While he in the tummy of the snake he thought back on the time he fought for his life.
Kakashi to the rescue. Again. This boy try to kill this man and he still help him. Talk about a real friend. Good ole Kakashi. I wonder why Obito holding on to that grudge. Man need to just free up. Anyway we Kakashi and Kinoe standing near the carcase of the Snake creature. Suddenly the blood started to emit a poisonous gas. Kinoe got away but Kakashi once again being the super hero warned Kinoe and inhaled the gas. So Kinoe got him out of the room and gave him the anti serum. Whaddya know… He saved his life. How cute. Then the mission Kinoe was sent to do was brought back to his memory. Kakashi knocked out cold. Great opportunity to take his eye. But he didn’t. Instead he chose friendship over the mission. So you know Pimp Daddy Danzo ain’t gonna like that one bit!
Kinoe gonna get it. Danzo look pretty pissed right there. So Kakashi went and told Lord Third of the situation. Now let us get this right. Lord Third is a real politician. This man swoop in at the nick of time and sort out the situation in the nick of time. I doubt that letter he gave that girl had anything to do with the situation. So just for him to get in and pull Kakashi and Kinoe out alive was just real cool. I think Lord Third need to come Tola and run for politics. He would definitely get my vote.
This episode showed the strong bond that Kakashi and Tenzo now have. We understand how those two once formed a bond that stood the test of time. I still don’t understand why Kakashi killed Rin. That part is still a mystery. Probably they will tell us more as the episode goes on. As you can tell they are going through the fluff phase. Lucky for us this fluff isn’t half bad. Bringing us some serious well deserved back stories to some key characters. I hope they don’t send us down a rabbit hole and then pull us out prematurely. Sometimes when you show us the past we might want to stay there. Personally I am enjoying it very much. So till the next episode stay Frosty
Woot!!! Let the good times roll!!! That is right baby! Carib Gamer got the chance to run online games at the CCT 4G launching event. I won’t lie it wasn’t a smooth ride. First it didn’t start on time. You know Tortola time never starts on time. Nonetheless we still kept a positive attitude. Why? well that is easy. We will be the ones to test out online gaming on a 4G network. Many gamers crave faster internet. The many questions was asked but one was the most asked. Is it fast? The answer is a resounding yes.
I know what you are waiting for. You want to see proof of this internet speed I speak of. You want to know how fast will this be. Did it handle the amount of online consoles at the event? Well let me tell you that it did not handle the 6 consoles online at the same time. We had an Xbox One, two Xbox 360, two PS3’s and One Nintendo Wii. For the old school gamers we had the original Nintendo. Yes the real deal not a PC running an emulator. At first we started to stream on Twitch on Caribgamertv but had some lag. Then some of the gamers playing Battlefield 4 started to experience lag. So we had to get a second modem to handle the load. Now one of the techs at the event told me something about not being optimized. either way once he brought the second modem and we placed 2 consoles on it. The Xbox One and one of the PS3 it was smooth sailing from there.
We weren’t the only entertainment there. There were artist singing their latest songs at the event. A bouncy house for the little ones. Food and free swag being shared out. Oh also new phones with 4G capabilities. The event was a huge success. It showed the people of the BVI that 4G is here and that we have a choice to have fast internet on our phones and at our homes.
As of now CCT have not released any of the modems that is on the 4G network for sale as yet. So don’t rush to the store looking for one. Many things have happened since the event that led to them to shut off the 4G services. Sad. Yes but we know they will get their stuff back on track very soon. We all can’t wait to see them back on and ready to serve the people of the BVI. So as soon as they release th epricing info for the MiFi and Routers for home I will post it here on Carib Gamer. So keep it locked to Carib Gamer as we keep on the grind for high speed internet.
It was blast hosting Carib Gamers first ever Street Fighter Tournament. The fighters came out and was ready to fight for bragging rights and $200. Now mind you the competition was no joke. Watching some the matches and you can tell these man brought their “A” game. All those who didn’t was shifting salt.
So we got set up by Versus the number one spot for Pro gamers to hone their skills. Also for the casual gamers as well. But That saturday we wanted to crown a champ. Who will this champ be. Who will claim the title Street Fighter 4 champ?
So as the tournament began we even had our very own commentators which in my opinion did an excellent job. I personally don’t know much about Street Fighter. You know the cross ups and other cool moves. I know when someone do an awesome combo and end it with a special move. Then you will hear my mouth. Other than that these guys live and breath Street Fighter.
Things was heating up fast. I watched as players used their best players and others lose horribly by their mistakes. It was interesting to see how many thought that they were the best to only be beaten at the beginning of the match. As the matches went on we came close to the end. Now Knal at that time never lost a match. He was definitely in beast mode. Then coming up from the rear was Kemo. Now this match up was intense. They was fighting for bragging rights and $200. Everyone thought Knal had the match. But Kemo stuck to his guns….. and became the first Carib Gamer Street Fighter 4 Champ!
All in all everything went great. CCT provided to us their MiFi device that allowed us to stream the whole event lag free.
Thanks to them we had a great time in our tournament and would love to send a shout out to them. The next tournament is NBA 2K14. So more details of that will be coming soon. So keep an eye out for that!
Hey fellow Naruto Fans. Sorry for the late review. Caught the flu. So my body feels like it been through the wringer. But by the looks of it Kakashi got to watch his back. Cause haters be tripping!
This episode picks up a little bit after Orochimaru escaped from the Hidden Leaf Village. Everybody is like “Where in the world is Carmen Orochimaru”. Dude just up and split without a trace. So the hokage sent word to Kakashi to check one of Orochimaru hideouts. We all know some freaky stuff does be going on in dem places. Man bleaching his skin trying his best to beat Micheal Jackson.
The things we do to save the village buddy. Going in dark tunnels checking for crazy experiments gone wrong. I mean what else can go wrong. Oh yeah There was a hit put on your eye. Not his head but his eye. Danzo seem to have that pokemon fever. Got to catch um all. Sadly he can’t do it himself. He got to send in Kinoe. Now we saw how much times Kakashi saved his life. To the point where he see him as a friend. But like a fool Kinoe does what he is told.
Have you ever watched a horror movie and the bad guy is closing in on the helpless victim. Well Kakashi isn’t helpless but the tension music is rising. Kinoe is Jason with the butcher knife getting closer and closer to stab his friend in the back. I was wondering how it would play out. I thought maybe the guy with Kinoe would of been the lead and try to kill Kakashi but then with an act of friendship Kinoe would save the day. Nope was I wrong. As soon as Kinoe used his wood style to open the door which I may add was totally awesome!
Kinoe really was gonna put the mission infront of friendship. Even though Kakashi saved this man life many times. He still was Danzo errand boy. Like he didn’t understand that sometimes doing what you are told isn’t the right choice. We have Kinoe thinking long and hard about betraying Danzo.
So after a brief flash back we have the two ninjas battle it out. Where you have Kakashi holding back. Then when Kinoe start to turn it up my boy had to pull out the Chidori. Then you know it bout to get real!
This episode left us with somewhat of a cliff hanger. We know Kakashi won’t kill him. But it is fun to see how things will play out in the next episode. So far I feel that Naruto is getting much better. Many of the characters are starting to flesh out. Sorry once again for the late review. This flu really beating me up. Hopefully I get better before the next episode. So till then stay frosty!
For the first time in the BVI a virtual roller coaster! Planet 6D Cinema is here!!! I know most of you guys reading this probably thinking how lame is that. Well here in the BVI we don’t have a theme park or other kinds of activities that would rival that of six flags or Disney.
So the owner Ghana Skelton called Carib Gamer for a test run I was both excited and thrilled. I suddenly had that moment when I first got into a roller coaster ride. The adrenalin started to flow. My heart rate increased. What is this feeling? A grown man like me shouldn’t be feeling this way. I guess old age making the slightest things in my life amplified times 2.
When the doors close on ya and the sound of the bass thumps your chest you know this ain’t no joke! With the 3D glasses on the ride comes to life. The wind starts to hit your face as the ride picks up speed. Then all of a sudden you start to forget your are in a room. You become fully submerged in this virtual roller coaster ride. As you can tell from the video above I really enjoyed myself. Carib Gamer put their stamp of approval on this fun filled adventure in the BVI. So if you are interested in this come on over by Fish Bay behind DHL. They are open Friday 4pm -7pm, Saturday 2:30pm – 7pm and Sunday 3pm – 6:30pm. They will also be showing 3D and 6D movies. So check out their facebook page:
To know what they will be showing or other activities. Also don’t forget to “like” them.
